Abstract
Antibodies [Ab] specific to the envelope or nucleocapsid of the Kentucky-D strain of equine herpesvirus type 1 were isolated from convalescent horse serum by immunoadsorption on CNBr-activated Sepharose conjugated with equine herpesvirus type 1 envelopes or nucleocapsids, with subsequent elution by glycine buffer. In double immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis reactions, the eluted proteins appeared to belong to the Ig[immunoglobulin]G fraction of horse serum. Ab directed against the viral envelope neutralized equine herpesvirus type 1 in a plaque neutralization test, while Ab against the nucleocapsid showed no virus neutralizing activity. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
