Threshold Production of Positive Pions and the Form of theπNNVertex

Abstract

Recent measurements of ($p, {\pi }^{+}$) reactions near threshold allow us to restrict substantially the possible forms of the empirical nonrelativistic $\pi \mathrm{NN}$ vertex.
