Abstract
Therapeutic doses usually varying between 24 and 48 meq/day were given 38 manic patients. Effects of suggestibility for both patient and observer were minimized by alternation between Li and placebo administration. Effect was beneficial in 14, possibly so in 18 and negative in 6. With higher dosages symptoms of slight intoxication; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hand tremor, general fatigue and slight drowsiness occurred in some cases. Keywords
