Abstract
500 U./ml. of penicillin or 100 gamma/ml. streptomycin, separate or in combination, did not adversely affect the survival of the mumps virus in vitro, or the growth of the virus in vivo. The virus was most stable between pH 6.5 - 7, and was rapidly killed above pH 7.9 or below 5.65. The virus was relatively unstable under most conditions. Max. virus yields were obtained from 7-day-old chick embryo cultures, 4-6 days after inoculation. Keywords
