Abstract
The surface acoustic wave (SAW) soliton of the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV)-type propagating on the metallic grating waveguide has been observed experimentally. The periodic train of two solitons developed from the continuous sine wave of SAW. A large-amplitude soliton caught up with a small-amplitude soliton and these two solitons recombined into the initial sine wave at the recurrence point. The observed wave forms agreed with the calculated ones very well which were obtained by solving the KdV equation and satisfied the first conservation law of the KdV equation. Keywords
