Abstract
Baby mouse adapted MEFl poliomyelitis virus was bombarded by deuterons and alpha particles. The inactivation of infectivity corresponds to a cross section of 71 [plus or minus]3.5 x 10-12 cm2 for alpha particles and 6.0 [plus or minus] 5.3 x 10-12 cm2 for deuterons. The radius of an assumed spherical sensitive volume so deduced is 15.7 + 4.8 m[mu].Keywords
