RELIABILITY OF PREGNANCY TESTS WITH MALE BATRACHIA AND FEMALE RODENTS

Abstract
Sperm emission from Hyla arborea, Rana ridibunda and Bufo viridis as a pregnancy test was compared with rat- and mouse-Ascheim-Zondek tests, and with Friedman rabbit tests in 700 cases. No false positives occurred. 15% false negatives occurred when the chorionic gonadotropin titer was low, or when FSH contributed to the reaction. Reliability tests was: rat AZT, Friedman, Mouse AZT, Rana and Bufo test, Hyla test, in that order. Urines were used without concn.
