Protein Synthesis in the Irradiated Intestine of the Mouse

Abstract
Protein synthesis in the irradiated intestine of the mouse was studied. Cl4 labeled leucine was used for radiochemical studies, H^ leucine for autoradiographic studies. No reduction in tracer uptake was found during the first day after irradiation, with doses up to 2500 rads, in any of the cells and cell components studied; however, beginning 2 to 3 days after irradiation with high doses, leucine uptake was reduced.
