Abstract
Partial hepatectomy in the spayed [female] rat reduces the amt. of [alpha]-estradiol required to produce vaginal estrus in 50 % of the animals when the estrogen is injected either sub-cutaneously or intrasplenically. The reduction is greater when the estrogen is administered by the intrasplenic route. These facts are interpreted as additional evidence that estrogens are inactivated in the liver. Keywords
