Abstract
The frequency distribution spectrum and constant‐volume heat capacity are computed for a model of a monatomic rhombohedral crystal. Interactions between an atom and its nearest and second‐nearest neighbors are considered. The interatomic force constant are evaluated from the elastic constants of mercury. Keywords
