Abstract
Chemical modification of the cysteine residue 374 of actin, both with N-ethylmaleimide and with the fluorescent probe N-(1-pyrenyl)iodoacetamide, is shown to counteract the inhibiting effect of profilin on actin polymerization.Keywords
