Red Cell Cholinesterase in Infancy and Childhood

Abstract
The mean cord blood red cell cholinesterase is only 53% of the adult mean. The adult level is reached between 3 and 5 months of age. Young cord red cells contain more cholinesterase than older cells. In 11 cases of erythroblastosis fetalis the red cell cholinesterase was within the normal cord blood range.Keywords
