Energy Levels ofSc48

Abstract

The energies of neutrons emitted in the ${}_{}{}^{48}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ca}(p, n){}_{}{}^{48}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Sc}$ reaction at proton energies of 4.5 and 5.5 MeV have been determined by a time-of-flight technique. The level structure of ${}_{}{}^{48}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Sc}$ was deduced up to 4.3-MeV excitation. The $Q$ value determined for the ${}_{}{}^{48}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ca}(p, n){}_{}{}^{48}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Sc}$ reaction is -506±7 keV.
