Abstract
Remission of the nephrotic syndrome and disappearance of proteinuria was observed in two patients with histologically documented renal amyloidosis. In one, amyloidosis was secondary to infective endocarditis of the tricuspid valve, with multiple lung abscesses. Proteinuria disappeared and amyloid deposits in the liver regressed completely after treatment of the underlying infection. In the other, amyloidosis was associated with chronic pulmonary tuberculosis and suppurative bronchiectasis. Remission in the nephrotic syndrome with disappearance of proteinuria appeared to be related to antibiotic therapy of purulent bronchiectasis. Keywords
