Abstract
The supernatant liquid of centrifuged protamine Zn insulin prepns. as well as the whole suspension were tested in phosphate buffered solns. for antibacterial properties on cultures of Lactobacillus arabinosus, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli. All results were confirmed by plate cultures of well-shaken suspensions read at 48 hrs. Protamine Zn insulin showed antibacterial activity; this was about equivalent to the activity of the contained protamine. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
