Stripping Analysis of the (d, p) Angular Distributions from theCl35(d, p)Cl36and theCl37(d, p)Cl38Reactions

Abstract
The analysis of the angular distribution of the protons from the Cl35,37(d, p)Cl36,38 reactions revealed forty-six levels in Cl36 and four levels in Cl38, previously unreported, and the ln values and absolute differential cross sections for fifty groups to levels in Cl36 and for seven groups to levels in Cl38. The discussion which is given in terms of the shell model resulted in the following spin assignments: The 0.789-MeV state in Cl36 has Jπ=3+, and the 1.163-MeV state has probably Jπ=1+. The spins of the levels at 0.671, 0.761, and 1.309 MeV in Cl38 are 5, 3, and 4, respectively. The observed values of the single-particle reduced width θ02 for the different subshells agree quite well with the values given by Macfarlane and French for other nuclei.
