Abstract
In patients with organic and functional disease of the kidney, the endogenous creatinine clearance is not a satisfactory measure of the GFR. This discrepancy between the creatinine and inulin clearances occurs with both the creatinine-chromogen clearance and the specific creatinine clearance, detd. by the enzymatic method of Miller and Dubos. In patients with renal disease or in cardiac failure, endogenous creatinine clearance should not be employed as a precise measure of the GFR.Keywords
