Abstract
THE coexistence of diabetes mellitus and hyperthyroidism has long been known1 and frequently reported. The literature indicates that approximately 1 to 2.5 per cent of patients with diabetes mellitus have thyrotoxicosis, and 1 to 3 per cent of patients with thyrotoxicosis have diabetes.2 3 4 5 Regan and Wilder5 report that the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in patients with toxic nodular goiter is 5.6 per cent and is greater than that in the general population. On the other hand, the occurrence of diabetes among patients with Graves's disease approximated the frequency of diabetes among all patients admitted to their hospital.Despite this well . . .Keywords
