Studies on Goitrogenic Agents in Food

Abstract
The goitrogenic effect of groundnut was studied using albino rats. The goitrogenic factor appeared to be water soluble and could not be identified with any of the known dietary goitrogens. This goitrogenic effect was inhibited by dietary supplements of small amounts of iodine as potassium iodide.Keywords
