Abstract
The relative transfer of C-14 from propionate-2-Ci4, carbonate-C14, glucose-1-C14, glycine-l-C14, butyrate-2-C14, and norvaline-3-C14 into the 2,3,4 carbon atoms of urinary B-hydroxy-butyric and acetoacetic acid, and acetone was determined. Both norva-line and butyrate exhibit glucogenic behavior in addition to showing a relatively higher ketogenicity than the other metabolites investigated in this study. Keywords
