Metabolism of steroids

Abstract
A careful examination of yeast fat, acorn fat. wheat germ oil and the neutral fraction from saponified cholesteryl stearate revealed no 7-hydroxy-sterols. They are formed, if at all. in only small amts. during isolation procedures, and are therefore probably lo be regarded as ''genuine'' intermediates in cholesterol metabolism.
