Abstract
Five types of twin, (1011), (1122), (1121), (2241) and (1231), have been identified by electron microscopy in vapour-grown CdS needle crystals. Polarity determination by etching has shown that these twins are of inversion type. The polarity inversion of the twins has been interpreted by atomistic consideration of the twin boundaries. Keywords
