Energy Levels of Ti48 from the Decay of Sc48 and V48

Abstract
The gamma rays following the decay of Sc48 and V48 have been investigated by means of threefold coincidence techniques. In the case of Sc48, it was found that within the limits of experimental error all of the decays occur via a three-gamma cascade. In V48, although the decay occurs primarily via a two-gamma process, a small three gamma contribution was detected. By twofold coincidence measurements, the 2.2-Mev gamma ray of V48 decay was found to be in cascade with the 0.99-Mev gamma ray. Level schemes are proposed for both decays.
