Aldrich's Syndrome: Familial Thrombocytopenia, Eczema and Infection

Abstract

Another family is reported which seems to suffer from Aldrich''s syndrome. The syndrome consists of thrombocytopenic purpura, eczema and infection occurring in male infants and leading eventually to death from haemorrhage or infection. It is genetically determined and is due to a sex-linked recessive gene. It has not yet been shown whether or not the condition is congenital.
