Abstract
The metabolic behaviour of the transuranic group of elements has been reviewed briefly. In general these elements are poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and the absorbed material is deposited mainly in the liver and skeleton. Skeletal retention is prolonged and is probably similar for all the elements in the group. It is suggested that the metabolic behaviour of the trivalent elements from americium to nobelium will be qualitatively similar.Keywords
