Abstract
Infrared transmission and attenuated total reflectance spectra (ATR) of 20 carbohydrates are presented in the range 700 to 250 cm−1. Good ATR spectra can be obtained in this region of the spectrum, and the region is useful for the identification of the various carbohydrates. Among other compounds, α and β sugars and their derivatives can be distinguished from each other by the transmission or ATR techniques.Keywords
