Abstract
Presentation of Case Third admission. A seventy-three-year-old woman was readmitted to the hospital because of joint pain.Five years previously the patient began to have episodes of generalized arthralgia involving most of the joints of the body. The symptoms began in the back and knees and later involved the hands, shoulders, knees and ankles. The pain became marked, with swelling and limitation of motion. Prednisone was started, the dosage varying according to the severity of the attacks, and gave partial relief.
