Observation of the HypernucleiOΛ16andAlΛ27

Abstract

The ($K^{-}, {\pi }^{-}$) reaction on ${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$ and ${}_{}{}^{27}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Al}$ at $p_{K^{-}}=390\mathrm{}$ MeV/c with forward emitted ${\pi }^{-}$ (Feshbach-Kerman kinematics) was studied. Formation of ${}_{\Lambda }{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$ and ${}_{\Lambda }{}^{27}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Al}$ was observed. Experimental energy spectra are compared with some theoretical predictions.
