XV Cervical Lymphatics: Pathologic Conditions

Abstract
The presence of cervical metastases modifies the direction and rate of lymph flow from the larynx. The quantitative effect of tumor irradiation has not been determined but qualitatively a modification in direction and rate of lymph flow is apparent. The secondary areas of lymph drainage from the larynx assume greater significance in the presence of cervical metastases. The submandlb-ular region and the paratracheal nodes increase in potential as tumor sites from adjacent involved nodes.
