Deuteron Stripping Reaction onMg25

Abstract
The Mg25(d,p)Mg26 reaction was studied at bombarding energies between 3.0 and 5.2 MeV. Angular distributions were measured for proton groups to the ground state and four excited states of Mg26. The elastic scattering in the entrance and exit channels was measured at the appropriate energies and optical-model parameters determined. Using the distorted-wave Born approximation, spectroscopic factors were extracted from the stripping data. Except for the ground state (pure l=2), a mixture of l values (l=0 and 2) was required to fit the data.
