Nutrition and Urolithiasis

Abstract
The exact role of diet in the formation of different types of urinary stones in man is uncertain. However, under some circumstances, diet seems to exert a modifying influence on their production. A relationship between nutrition and urolithiasis is suggested by two major factors: (1) Urinary stones are composed of materials found in food, and (2) they can be experimentally produced by certain manipulations of the diet.
