GONADAL DYSGENESIS WITH MENSTRUATION: A REPORT OF 2 CASES

Abstract
The syndrome of gonadal dysgenesis may present a varied picture. Isolated cases have been reported with scanty menstrual bleeds. Two patients are described in whom prolonged menstruation (oligomenorrhoea) is claimed. The first showed shortness of stature, male nuclear pattern and high gonadotropin excretion without the skeletal anomalies of Turner''s syndrome; the gonads were typical vestigial streaks. The second patient was tall and eunuchoid, had a female nuclear pattern and low follicle stimulating hormone excretion; her gonads were partially developed. A third patient is mentioned in an addendum who resembled Case 2.
