Abstract
The authors show that, by using the entirely passive saturable absorption effect of nonlinear polarisation rotation, a 10 Gbit/s PRBS soliton data stream can be transmitted over 200 Mm error free. This result was possible due to the combined effects of dispersion management, saturable absorption and strong filtering, giving noise suppression and timing jitter reduction. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
