Electron momentum distributions in organic liquids

Abstract
Positron annihilations have been investigated in a number of organic liquids, particularly hexane and benzene and their halogen derivatives. The angular distributions of the annihilation photons have been obtained with sufficient statistical accuracy to allow a conversion of the data into momentum distributions of the annihilating positron-electron pairs. These momentum distributions generally consist of two components and evidence is presented indicating that the higher momentum component is a direct measure of the momentum distribution of the electrons involved in the annihilation process.
