Nucleation ofHe3-Bfrom theAPhase: A Cosmic-Ray Effect?

Abstract

It is proposed that the nucleation of the $B$ phase of liquid ${}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$ from the metastable $A$ phase is a consequence of the passage of a cosmic ray through the cell and the resultant anomaly in the effective temperature distribution in the liquid.
