Central Nervous System Involvement by Leukemia in Children. I. Relationship to Systemic Leukemia and Description of Clinical and Laboratory Manifestations

Abstract
Central nervous system symptoms developed in approximately 26% of children with leukemia, appearing at any stage of the disease, regardless of the treatment, with the possible lower frequency when steroids were used. When properly treated, the involvement of the central nervous system did not appear to shorten the survival time.
