Abstract
The electronic band structures of Sn and Sn are calculated by using the empirical pseudopotential method. The potentials were obtained by scaling those used in other energy-band calculations. The symmetry properties of the crystals are treated in detail, and the optical constants are calculated. Comparison with experiment is also made.
