Abstract
The reaction of iododiphenylarsine with trifluoroiodomethane in the presence of mercury produces diphenyltrifluoromethylarsine. Phenylbistrifluoromethylarsine and methylphenyltrifluoromethylarsine are prepared from similar reactions using diiodophenylarsine and iodomethylphenylarsine respectively. The properties of these new trifluoromethyl arsenicals are compared with those of related compounds.Keywords
