Abstract
He2+ ions at velocities less than 6.6*107 cm s-1 changing to He+ in an Ar gas target are found to produce more Ar2+ than Ar+ recoil ions. This phenomenon demonstrates the importance of transfer ionisation in such collisions. Keywords
