The effect of ascorbic acid on β-glycerophosphate

Abstract
Na [beta]-glycerophosphate is hydrolyzed directly by ascorbic acid alone; hydrochloric, sulphuric, trichloroacetic, and acetic acids at pH=1 do not do so. The theory of ascorbic acid activation of serum phosphatase has therefore been abandoned.
