Abstract
It is pointed out that new X-ray filters to choose the Kα2 radiation by cutting Kα1 are available for limited cases. Among these filters, a Ru filter for selecting AgKα2 seems to be practically most useful in various purposes of X-ray crystallography. Some simple applications are described with some preliminary experimental results. The most promising is a simple and quick method to take a topographical photograph without a traverse mechanism and without much loss of resolution. Another example is to take a powder photograph by a Guinier camera with AgKα2 only. Merits and demerits in several possible applications including the single crystal diffractometry are also discussed.
