Abstract
Copper sulfate labeled with Cu64 was given by mouth to 2 patients with Wilson''s disease and to normal controls. A larger proportion of the ingested dose was recovered in the feces of controls than in patients. Patients passed a much larger proportion of the dose in the urine than did the controls. Plasma levels were slightly higher in patients. Apparently there is overabsorption of Cu by the patients and Cu existed in an abnormal form in their plasma.
