Abstract
Phase locking of fluxon motion in a long Josephson junction is investigated theoretically for microwave coupling through the boundaries of the system. We demonstrate that the wave properties of the fluxon motion during reflection are crucial for predicting the size of the locking range. Analytical results are compared to direct numerical simulations of the sine-Gordon model and excellent agreement is found. Keywords
