Abstract
A review of the analysis of the n+O18 elastic scattering data advances the argument that two states, with Jπ=32+ and 52+, are the dominant levels in O19 near 5.4 MeV excitation. Both states show significant single-particle strengths. The 32+ spin assignment is in agreement with the recent shell-model calculations of Halbert et al. The origin of the 52+ state is still open.
