Abstract
Postinfusion elevated portal pressure may be found to follow acute or prolonged hemorrhagic treatment which does not lead to circulatory failure as well as drastic hypotension which induces irreversible shock. Though elevated portal pressure may be an accompanying feature of irreversible shock, it cannot be considered a primary initiating factor in the development of such a state. Keywords
