Sexual behavior and sexual receptivity in the female guinea pig.

Abstract
A very thorough study of the following factors was made: (1) age at time of rupture of the vaginal membrane, (2) age of first period of heat, (3) average length of heat periods, (4) consistency in length of heat period, and (5) mounting behavior during the heat period. Attempts were made to account for some of the dioestrous intervals of abnormally long length. Data on the character of the split oestrous are given. No evidence was found for a seasonal shift in the time of day when heat usually occurs.
