Control of Ragweed Pollen Production With 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid

Abstract
Water sprays of 2,4-D at 1,000 ppm. at sufficiently early stages of flower development prevented pollen shed in eastern spp. of ragweed. Expts. with a frog machine indicate that it will be a more economical method than sprays since it does not require large vols. of water or expensive equipment and its application is swifter. 2,4-D is a promising herbicide for ragweed control.
