Abstract
Whole body x-radiation as employed in the above studies did not result in the termination of immunologic tolerance to BSA induced in rabbits by neonatal injection of BSA. The doses of x-radiation which were administered were 450 r and 1000 r. Passive anti-BSA and a combination of passive anti-BSA and x-radiation also had no effect on the BSA tolerant state. The relation of these results to both a theory of antibody production and the mechanisms involved in immunologic tolerance is discussed.
