Abstract
Some new experimental results on the scattering of mesons in emulsion are presented, in two energy ranges, Mev and Mev. An optical-model analysis is made of these results, which avoids many of the approximations of previous workers. It is concluded that the -nucleus interaction is repulsive and that the -nucleon cross section inside the nucleus is compatible with the observed cross section for free protons.
