Abstract
Radioactive sulfate was injd. into rabbits, which were sacrificed 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, 48, 120, 240, and 384 hrs., respectively, after injn. Autoradiographs were prepared from the ovaries, and the amt. of radioactive S in the theca, granulosa and liquor folliculi was estimated, A peak was reached in the theca and the granulosa 16 hrs. after injn. and in the foilicular fluid 48 hrs. after injn. The results favor the opinion that the radiosulfate is taken up by the granulosa cells, where it may be incorporated in an organic compound of the mucopolysaccharide type before it is secreted in the foilicular fluid. Keywords
